Welcome to RockCriesOut.com 2.0!

Welcome everyone to the new look and focus of RockCriesOut.com! After several long months of site design and questionaires with friends and fans, RockCriesOut.com has come to this now: the Online Indie Christian Music Magazine!

Almost a year ago, RockCriesOut.com started out as more of a "social network" for Indie bands and fans. The intent was to help Christian Indie bands get more exposure through the site, and give fans an opportunity to find amazing talent not heard on the radio. However, over the past year, that structure turned out to not perform as well, as I intended, thus the process began for a new site focus.

The obvious thing is the new look of the site. It's been updated with a fresher, cleaner layout to get the newest information right in front of viewers as soon as they visit the site. Keep coming back to see more visual upgrades over the next few weeks and months ahead.

The new design and focus did come with some hurdles and some disappointments, however. During the site transfer, I was unable to retain the data stored on the former site. In other words, all articles, user accounts, comments, basically everything, was deleted when the new site was moved over to the live platform. I am deeply sorry to those of you who created an account with any information that was lost.

Despite that, the new site no longer needs user accounts to interact with the content. You merely type what you want in the comment section of an article or blog, and it will ask for your Facebook, Twitter, or other account ID to post information. You may even post as a guest if you are uncomfortable in posting using your social network ID. This not only helps reduce the number of account passwords and usernames you keep up with, but it will also allow you to interact with others in your social networks.

Speaking of sharing, RockCriesOut.com also features a brand new share button on the top of every article. If you'd rather not comment, but just share an article with the masses, please, be my guest! All you need to do is hover your mouse over the "Share" button and then click on the social network button you wish to post it to. Simple as that. Help RockCriesOut.com grow and expand by sharing our content with everyone!

The new site has also been optimized for searching. Every article now features "tags" or key words to help users track down articles that may interest them. For instance, if you're looking for a band, type in the band's name to find a list of articles mentioning them. Or if you are interested in rock or instrumental music, type in the keywords to find articles related to rock and instrumental music for you to review. As the site grows, this feature will be an invaluable tool. Try it out!

This is just the beginning of a new direction for RockCriesOut.com. My hope is that this site is used for God's glory in all that it does. Through this site, I aim to help bands make Him famous through their music. My prayer is that God will take this site and use it however He may. I hope everyone enjoys the site and feel free to send us any comments or suggestions. I'd love to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Randall
